Anise Cookies with Dates

Traditional cookies from South or North of Lebanon, and their name changes accordingly. Cookies are anise-flavored, perfectly crispy on the edges, and stuffed with delicious dates.
Suggestions:

To be enjoyed for a quick breakfast, a quick afternoon snack, or as a sweet bite after a good meal. We like to have them plain, or simply with tea. You can also enjoy them with some jam, or even dip them in Labne.
